The city always spoke to me. A myriad of small lives, one I could lose myself in, or perhaps find myself in.
Yet, here I am, stuck in my habitual comfort. I stare out my window. The sun begins to set. Another day gone, another week has triumphed. A bird captures my attention. She flies so gracefully in the air, untamed and free. Inexplicable, it feels like a sign, and a wave of emotions runs through my body. I burst out in tears, realizing I’ve been a prisoner - in my home; in my head. I have settled for less, and sacrificed my desires. Liberated, awakened, I know that this is the last sunset I will watch from this room.
